Amazing! Whilst we don’t currently have any specific beginner classes on our weekly timetable, our classes are open level and our teachers teach in a way to meet the needs of the class. There might be some things that feel challenging naturally as its brand new, but you are encouraged to come as you are and take what you need!
Welcome! We are so happy you’re joining us! We ask that you arrive around 10 minutes before your first session so that you can meet your teacher, be shown around the space, grab a tea and have a little time to settle in, take a breath and relax.
You will need to put your shoes in the shoe boxes outside the front door.
We are Unit 12D Merton Road, Bishopston BS7 8TL – find us here. As you turn onto Merton Rd (off Gloucester Rd), you then turn right again and our unit is tucked away around the corner but you’ll see our A Board & sign.
Parking is very limited on the Merton Rd trading estate – we ask that you do not park in front of the studio (to keep peace with our neighbours!) however all roads surrounding the studio are residential and therefore free. You can easily take public transport, cycle or walk from most parts of Bristol.
Just your lovely self! And probably a water bottle. We have tea and water in the reception.
Congratulations! Please email Tayler (our studio owner & pre/post natal trained) who can advise you on the most suitable class. Please always let our teachers know when you first meet them if you are pregnant. If you are in your third trimester, we do not recommend our pilates classes.
Check out our workshops page, to see when our next prenatal workshops are, as we run them monthly!
Our studio is a completely phone free space during session time. We ask that you turn your phone off/silent (and maybe your Apple watch?!) and put it in your bag in the reception. Let yourself be unplugged. You are welcome to take photos of our space before or after class. Don’t worry, your stuff is safe – the front door is always locked when the session begins.
Please try your best to always arrive around 5-10 minutes before your session – we understand that life often (!) happens but arriving late can really disrupt the class. Our teachers will lock the door to the reception when the session starts, so you might not be able to get in to practice, and would loose your credit (if applicable).
All our purchases are non-refundable, any cancellations made 12 hours before your session starts will be given back to you in form of a credit. If you cancel outside of the window you will forfeit your session.
If you are on our 2 week intro offer, you will incur an £8 fee for a no show. If you are a member, on a class pack, or drop in you will not be charged (although you will forfeit your credit if this is applicable) but we ask that you always cancel your space via Momence if you can’t make it anymore.
Sense of self is an inclusive community for ALL bodies and identities. Every one of our community members has a right to feel safe, nourished and welcome in our space and we ask that in attending any of our classes you also respect this <3 <3 We ensure that our teachers facilitate their sessions in a way that is inclusive of every body in the session.
